Akiva Anders
became interested in Brazilian culture and dance after vacationing in Brazil in 2000 and started taking dance classes with Aquarela upon her return. She danced with Aquarela in the annual San Francisco Carnaval Parade and joined the ensemble in 2004 after starring with Aquarela in the 2004 Carnaval Ball of the Bay Area Brazilian Club. Akiva lives and works in Berkeley where she runs a family daycare center. Akiva's love for Brazil continues as she has gone back several times including a 6 months stay in Bahia, Brazil.
